Syntax Center
A free command builder for people stuck in a security or IT tool. Pick the tool, say what you need, and copy a ready-to-run command.
The problem
When you're in the middle of a lab, a competition, or a real incident, the slow part usually isn't knowing what you want to do. It's remembering the exact syntax for the tool in front of you. Flags change between tools and versions, and searching docs breaks your focus. I built Syntax Center so anyone can get the right command in a few seconds.
How it works
- What are you using? Pick the app, tool, or shell you're typing into.
- What are you trying to do? Choose the task in plain language.
- Fill in your details. Targets, paths, ports, and so on. The command updates live as you type, and blanks you still need to fill are shown in italics.
- Copy your command and run it.
It covers a wide range of tools across Linux, Windows/PowerShell, SIEMs, networking, digital forensics and incident response, and cloud.
Features I added
- Request a Tool: users can ask for a tool that isn't listed. Requests go to a dedicated inbox I set up, so the catalog grows from what people actually need.
- Responsible-use notice: a reminder to only scan or change systems you own or are authorized to test.
- Version guidance: if a command errors, the site points users to the tool's built-in help (--help, Get-Help, man).
- Optional donations: a Buy Me a Coffee link connected through Stripe. The site stays free.
How I built and run it
I designed the workflow and decided which tools and tasks it covers. The code was written with AI coding tools under my direction. I understand how the site works, and I did the troubleshooting and debugging to get it working. I deployed it to Cloudflare Pages myself and keep maintaining it by adding tools and fixing commands when requests come in.
